Freight Round Light details

The Light weight reveals the gentlest side of Freight Round. Its softened terminals and open forms feel especially airy here, giving text a calm, unforced rhythm that never turns cold. Compared to the Regular and Medium, it steps back in tone, making it useful for longer passages, subtle hierarchy, or quiet brand voices. Pair it with heavier weights to create contrast without losing cohesion. Across the wider Freight collection, it offers a warmer counterpoint to the crisper Sans and more traditional serif styles, bringing a human touch to contemporary layouts.

About the Freight Collection

This is a collection of integrated typefaces ready to add unique style to any design project. What Joshua Darden started as a serif family inspired by the warmth and pragmatism found in 18th-century Dutch typefaces became The Freight Collection and now ranges across multiple weights, widths, and optical sizes — from Big to Display, Text, Micro, Macro, Sans, Neo, and Round — all of which include companion italics. That’s 192 fonts that have the ability to be bold and daring just as easily as they can be quiet and unassuming.
